The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won all 13 local government areas and 171 wards contested in the Ebonyi State local government elections held on Saturday.
The Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission (EBSIEC) announced the results on Sunday, with its Chairman, Enyi Patrick, declaring the ruling party the winner across the state.
Patrick said the election was conducted peacefully, noting that the exercise recorded substantial voter participation across the 13 local government areas and 171 political wards.
Governor Francis Nwifuru commended the peaceful conduct of the election and praised EBSIEC for ensuring an orderly electoral process.
Nwifuru, who voted at Edupfu Okemini Polling Unit 002 in Oferekpe Agbaja, Izzi Local Government Area, expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise.
Other stakeholders and prominent political figures in the state also commended the voter turnout and the smooth conduct of the election.
The results give the APC control of all the local government areas and wards contested in the council elections.
