Tinubu Orders Arrest of Prince George Buchi Nwabueze Over Alleged Fake Agency
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the immediate arrest of Prince George Buchi Nwabueze over the discovery of an alleged fake government agency operating within the premises of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

The alleged organisation was identified as the National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office.

The development was disclosed by the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Dr Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, while briefing State House correspondents after a meeting with President Tinubu on Friday.

According to the ICPC chairman, the discovery was made during an ongoing investigation into the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, a purported government body allegedly operated by Adeyemi Matthew.

Aliyu said investigators uncovered the additional purported agency and found that office space had allegedly been allocated to it within the premises of the Office of the SGF.

He described the development as part of the commission’s ongoing investigation into individuals and organisations allegedly presenting themselves as legitimate government institutions.

Following the briefing, President Tinubu ordered the immediate arrest of Nwabueze in connection with the alleged fake agency.

The President also ordered the immediate suspension of three Permanent Secretaries over the matter.

The affected officials were identified as M.S. Danjuma, Engineer Nadungu Gagare and Richard P. Pheelangwah.

The latest development comes as the ICPC intensifies its investigation into alleged fraudulent activities involving individuals who reportedly created or operated unauthorised organisations under the guise of government agencies.

The commission is expected to establish how the purported agency obtained access to government premises and whether any public officials facilitated its operations.

Further details on the allegations and the outcome of the investigation are expected to emerge as the ICPC continues its probe.
