Stamp Duty Payment to Be Restored Thursday – CAC Boss Assures

Abuja, Nigeria – After weeks of frustration among business owners and entrepreneurs, the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has announced that the long-awaited restoration of its stamp duty payment system will take effect this Thursday.

For the past one month, the newly launched CAC website has faced serious glitches, particularly in processing stamp duty payments. This technical hitch has stalled several business registrations, leaving many applicants stranded and unable to complete their incorporation process.

The Registrar-General of the CAC, Ishaq Magaji, confirmed that the issue has now been addressed and assured stakeholders that full restoration will be achieved by Thursday.

“We are aware of the inconveniences caused to applicants and business owners. Our technical team has been working round the clock to resolve the challenges, and by Thursday, stamp duty payment services will be fully restored,” Magaji stated.

Business owners and agents had earlier expressed concern over the downtime, lamenting that the disruption was slowing business operations, discouraging startups, and affecting compliance timelines.
The CAC boss, however, urged the public to remain patient, emphasizing that the commission’s new digital platform, once fully stabilized, will offer faster and more efficient services.

With this development, applicants who have pending company registration processes are expected to resume payment and completion of their filings from Thursday.

The restoration of stamp duty payment marks a significant relief for entrepreneurs and the business community, who have been eagerly awaiting the return of seamless operations on the CAC platform.
