The Osun State Police Command has arrested two men in connection with a burglary during which valuables worth an estimated ₦3 million were allegedly stolen, including laptops, mobile phones and power banks.
The police said one of the suspects, 27-year-old Eyelade Anuoluwa, was arrested in Ibadan, Oyo State, following intelligence gathered by operatives attached to the Ilesa Area Command.
According to a statement issued on Sunday by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, Anuoluwa allegedly broke into the complainant’s residence on July 26, 2026, and stole an HP laptop, a Dell laptop, an iPhone 12, an Android phone, two power banks and recharge cards.
The suspect was subsequently transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation, where he allegedly confessed to the crime.
Police said further investigation and interrogation revealed that some of the stolen property had been transferred to a receiver in Ibadan.
Acting on the information, SCID operatives conducted an intelligence-led operation which resulted in the arrest of 28-year-old Abdullah Musa in Ibadan.
The command said Musa allegedly confessed to receiving some of the stolen items and was being investigated for his suspected involvement in a syndicate dealing in stolen property.
According to the police, Musa also admitted that he bought an iPhone 12 from Anuoluwa for ₦25,000.
Several items were recovered during the operation, including an HP laptop, a Dell laptop, a Samsung phone, a mini DP charger, two power banks, an Apple iPad with 16GB storage and a scrap phone.
The Commissioner of Police in Osun State, CP Ibrahim Zungura, commended the operatives for their diligence and intelligence-led approach, which he said resulted in the arrests and recovery of some of the stolen property.
The command said investigation was still ongoing to determine the full extent of the suspects’ activities, identify other persons connected to the alleged crime and recover additional stolen items.
