The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has successfully wrapped up a one-month intensive welding and fabrication training programme in Warri, Delta State. 

The closing ceremony took place earlier today at the Multipurpose Vocational Training Centre, drawing participants, facilitators, and stakeholders in the oil and gas industry.

The initiative underscores NCDMB’s commitment to building local capacity and equipping young Nigerians with the technical skills required to excel in the oil, gas, and allied industries. 

Beneficiaries of the programme, selected through the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Joint Qualification System (NOGICJQS) portal, each received a 7.8KVA MaxMech MMA-300 welding machine — a critical tool to help them launch or strengthen their professional careers.

Speaking on behalf of the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, FNSE, Madam Temisan Eguando, Supervisor in the ES’ Office, commended the participants for their dedication throughout the training. She emphasized the Board’s determination to continuously empower Nigerian youths with practical skills and resources that drive industrial growth.

Other dignitaries present at the event included Mrs. Ojo Oluwafunmilayo, Supervisor, Zonal Coordination; Mrs. Sanju Mabiaku, Officer, Zonal Coordination; Miss Janet Lokpobiri, Officer, Finance Department; Mr. Foncha Prince; and Mrs. Joy Leghemo, Officer, Corporate Communications.

The training programme, according to the Board, is part of ongoing efforts to boost indigenous participation in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry, reduce reliance on expatriates, and promote sustainable development.
