A commercial tricycle (keke) operator was reportedly attacked and left for dead by a group of suspected bandits along Amorji Road, Kwale. According to information made available to *Kwale Post*, the driver was hired by the men under the guise of transporting a cow from Onicha-Ukwuani to Kwale, unaware that they were criminals.

The journey took a tragic turn when, midway along the route, the suspects allegedly launched a brutal attack on the driver. He was macheted multiple times, with deep cuts inflicted on his neck and body, before being abandoned by the roadside. The assailants then made away with the tricycle during the incident.

The matter has since been reported to the Kwale Police Station as well as the Kwale Vigilante Unit, who are expected to commence investigations into the attack and the whereabouts of the stolen keke.

Eyewitness accounts reveal that the victim was rescued shortly after the attack by a passing commercial motorcycle (okada) rider, who alerted residents and helped rush him to a nearby hospital. The driver is said to be receiving medical treatment and is currently responding to care.

Residents are calling for increased security patrols along the Amorji–Onicha-Ukwuani axis to curb the rising activities of criminal elements targeting road users.

Further updates will be communicated as more details emerge.
