The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a new directive to universities and other tertiary institutions across Nigeria, setting strict deadlines for the conclusion of the 2025 admission exercise.

In its weekly bulletin released on Monday, August 18, JAMB announced that public universities must finalise all admissions by October 31, 2025, while private universities have until November 30, 2025 to complete their processes.

The board further stated that all other tertiary institutions—both public and private, including polytechnics, colleges of education, and innovation enterprise institutions—must conclude admissions no later than December 31, 2025.

“By this policy directive, all admission processes must be concluded within the prescribed timelines,” JAMB emphasized.
JAMB also advised institutions conducting post-UTME screenings to fast-track the exercise in order to meet the schedule, stressing that the deadlines are binding and form part of efforts to streamline Nigeria’s admission calendar.

The directive is expected to ensure that the academic calendar runs smoothly across institutions, preventing disruptions caused by delayed admissions.
