The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has disclaimed the purported incorporation of 247 companies, warning the public against transacting with them.

In a notice posted on its official X handle on Friday, the Commission stated that the affected companies were never duly registered as limited liability entities.

According to CAC, the Registered Certificates and RC numbers allegedly attributed to the firms were never issued to any individual or corporate body.

β€œThe listed 247 companies have not been duly incorporated under the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA). The Commission has therefore removed them from its database,” the notice read in part.

The Commission further urged members of the public to disregard any claim of existence or legal personality by the affected companies, stressing that they cannot lawfully operate or enter into binding agreements in Nigeria.

The disclaimer serves as a caution to unsuspecting individuals and organizations against engaging in business with entities falsely parading as registered companies.
