The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council has said more appointments will be made as the party continues to expand its campaign structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Director of Strategic Communication of the council, Phrank Shaibu, disclosed this in a statement, noting that the recently released list of appointees was only an initial phase of the campaign’s organisational process.
Shaibu said consultations were still ongoing and that additional responsibilities would be assigned as the campaign structure expands across the country.
According to him, former Vice President and ADC presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, remains mindful of the contributions and sacrifices made by individuals who have supported his political journey over the years.
He appealed to supporters whose names were not included in the initial list to remain patient, stressing that their loyalty and commitment had not been overlooked.
“The campaign is still evolving. Consultations are continuing, and further responsibilities will be assigned as the structure expands across the country,” Shaibu said.
He added that the campaign would continue to rely on party members, experienced political leaders, professionals, young Nigerians and others willing to contribute to its activities.
Shaibu also announced that the campaign would soon unveil its zonal and state structures, alongside additional senior appointments and other levels of organisation extending to wards and polling units nationwide.
He said the campaign was equally developing its policy framework, with plans to bring together experts and professionals with experience in areas considered critical to Nigeria’s development.
The areas identified include the cost of living, food security and agriculture, security, energy and power, employment, industrialisation, manufacturing and small and medium-sized enterprises.
Others are education, healthcare, infrastructure, housing, public finance, governance, technology and innovation, social protection, natural resources, environmental sustainability and human capital development.
Shaibu said the campaign recognised that the country’s challenges were interconnected and therefore required coordinated policy responses.
“The objective is to ensure that every major national problem is matched with a serious, practical and implementable policy response capable of improving the everyday lives of Nigerians,” he said.
He described the ADC campaign as a people-driven national movement that would continue to expand by engaging Nigerians who support its objectives.
According to him, the campaign seeks to build a country where citizens can cope better with the cost of living, businesses can operate successfully, young people have access to opportunities and families can have greater confidence in the future.
“There is room in this journey for every sincere hand willing to serve,” Shaibu added.
