Amstel Malta has supported women in Abia State with business grants and beauty gift packs as part of activities marking this year’s August Meeting held at the New Government House, Umuahia.
The event, which took place on Friday, August 28, brought together women as part of the annual South-East tradition that sees women return to their hometowns to reconnect with their communities, discuss local issues and celebrate their shared heritage.
As part of its activities at the gathering, Amstel Malta awarded business grants to five women to help expand their businesses and support their entrepreneurial ambitions.
The event was attended by Abia State Governor, Alex Otti; his wife, Priscilla Otti; and the state Commissioner for Women Affairs, Maureen Aghukwa, who also presented grants to female entrepreneurs during the gathering.
Amstel Malta also partnered with Zaron Cosmetics to distribute specially curated beauty packs to women at the event. The collaboration followed a similar partnership between the two brands during last year’s August Meeting.
Speaking at the event, Amstel Malta’s Senior Brand Manager, Francis Obiajulu, said the brand was pleased to participate in gatherings that recognised women beyond their everyday responsibilities.
He said the partnership with Zaron Cosmetics added another dimension to the celebration by encouraging women to make time for themselves while continuing to contribute to their families and communities.
The Senior Manager, Marketing and Communication at Zaron Cosmetics, Aderinsola Adetunji, said the company was delighted to continue its partnership with Amstel Malta in celebrating the women who sustain the August Meeting tradition.
Adetunji noted that women make significant contributions to their families and communities, adding that occasions such as the August Meeting provide an opportunity to remind them to prioritise their own wellbeing.
Earlier in August, Amstel Malta extended similar recognition to women at the August Meeting in Enugu State, where it celebrated their contributions to their families and communities.
The brand said its continued participation in August Meeting events across the South-East reflects its commitment to celebrating women beyond a single occasion and engaging with them in communities and spaces that are important to them.
