2027 UTME Registration To Be Easier, Faster Than 2026 — JAMB Registrar

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has assured prospective candidates that the 2027 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration exercise will be significantly easier and less stressful than the process experienced in 2026.

JAMB Registrar, Mr Segun Aina, disclosed this while speaking at the board’s inaugural meeting held on August 3.

According to Aina, the board is preparing to introduce a new pre-registration mobile platform that will enable candidates to complete key aspects of the registration process from the comfort of their homes.

He explained that the platform would provide faster sign-ups, offline data collection and instant validation, measures designed to reduce delays, errors and other challenges that candidates encountered during previous registration exercises.

The Registrar added that the new system would also have an automated document scanning and verification feature to minimise wrong data entries and prevent registration irregularities.

Aina said the initiative was part of JAMB’s broader effort to modernise its operations and provide more efficient services to candidates across the country.

“We shall continue to simplify our processes, improve our communication, strengthen our customer support, embrace technology where it makes service easier, protect information with the highest standards of security, invest in our people, modernise the way we work, and build systems that are efficient, transparent, and worthy of the confidence Nigerians place in us,” he said.

When fully implemented, the new registration system is expected to cut the time required to complete the process from about 20 minutes to approximately two or three minutes.

The development is expected to represent a major improvement in JAMB’s registration process, while bringing the board’s operations closer to international standards and making the admission journey less burdensome for Nigerian students.
